Production in Place Capabilities
April 2020
In these times of great uncertainty, we have been returning to our roots, spending more time with family, rediscovering old comforts. And for the working parents, dealing with the needy coworkers who constantly interrupt the workday with their unrelenting requests for snacks and diaper changes. My work is about joy out of struggle, connection, and humanness, and though production may be changing, the need for these overarching messages of hope in advertising storytelling remain constant.
As a documentary photographer always interested in the truth, and arriving there with the subject by giving them the complete freedom and ease to be themselves, my approach is to lightly direct while clicking through decisive moments as families interact together and with products in natural ways. I am happy to continue offering commercial lifestyle and editorial photography following safety protocols outdoors and masked up. We are also recreating responsibly in quick trips during quarantine, renting Airbnbs, etc. My family and large community of neighbors and friends are willing to step in as talent to create real photos using real moments of messy and imperfect parenting to connect with an audience craving authenticity and solutions from brands that come alongside them to make their lives better.
